Valdese reminds me of the Canadian Folk arsist Valdy, ever heard of him?
jannie: Yep, it's one of many large trees around the place, nice in the summer, but worrisome when the wind blows. I never heard of Valdy so I'll have to look him up. Valdese was founded by a group of Waldensians from the Italian Alps, and I believe it gets it's name from the group's founder (from back in medieval times).
Nice tree! Until you have to scoop 18 pounds of leaves out of the gutters!
Why do we need gutters? Just let the rain run down the roof onto the deck!
