All Across North Carolina

Tonight, all across this great state, including here in this little paradise that is Valdese, people are huddled around whatever their primary source of heat may be.

Some are saying, "See, I knowed they warnt no dad-burned global warmin' ".

Others are saying, "WTF???????"

'Cause it's really cold.

Glad I'm safe and warm tonight, huddled with the hubby and animals for warmth!

Cali couldn't afford to seed the clouds over Tahoe this year and they are getting plenty of snow. Go figure.

We've been going up to the Western NC mountains for over 15 years...every December and last year 2008 was a cold and wet one...more than we had experienced before. We had a feeling this winter would be as cold or colder, so we stayed in Fla for the winter. We decided on a warmer Christmas and quieter New Year's eve. I am watching the web cams and the foothills are decorated in white...from afar it is beautiful though and I am a bit homesick for the mountains. Wishing you a safe, healthy and love-filled New Year. Stay warm!

FishHawk: Thank you very much, I'm honored! The image you picked is just about my favorite picture of last year.

Fearless: It's getting way cold here - they said the coldest it's been in 10-15 years. Theres still snow on the ground (in patches) from 10 days ago - and I can see the mountains from here and they are covered. Florida (somewhere around key west) is a good place to be right now.
